A day in Paris is worth a month anywhere -
(well, not forgetting Venice & Bruges & Copehagen, Amsterdam, Delft, New York... )
I’m an art historian writing books on art, architecture and design plus features for online and print media on art, on travel and, if I am lucky, art AND travel.
I attend press views - the curatorial talks are the best - and I get lots of commissions to write features on exhibitions but… there are many that I want to write about that editors haven’t got space for. (Or the pitch was terrible).
Here, I have a chance to write up some of the latest shows in UK and Europe - and worldwide if I can get there - that are not published elsewhere.
I would like to connect to other writers - art and travel - what’s been seen, views on exhibitions, and artists, and galleries. Stuff like that. Working freelance is a day of me typing - when I am not travelling or visiting exhibitions - and it would be great to hear from other writers - how it’s going for you.
I plan to post once a week - to give me time to write a good piece, and sort out images - digital has ruined my photography skills - at present it’s free. If I find I have a hidden fan club of 100,000 followers, I’ll think on it.
